Tom Cruise, presently one of the most sought after stars of Hollywood, was born on 2nd July in 1962 as Thomas Cruise Mapother in Syracuse, New York. Thanks to his nomadic parents, he attended 15 different schools in the US and Canada. While he was in high school, he developed an interest in acting. At the age of 18, he went to New York to pursue his dream of becoming an actor.

He debuted in the 1981 flick 'The Endless love' in a small role. After that there was no looking back for the good looking actor.
