
Amélie Simone Mauresmo born on 5 July 1979 is a French tennis player and well known for her powerful one-handed backhand and her strong net play. She started her career in 1999 when she was just 19 years old in Australian Open.

Defeated Anastasia Myskina in a quarterfinal and Maria Sharapova in a semifinal and then came back to defeat Henin in the final
